I promised some feedback on the UBS Global Health Care Investment Conference. I attended Monday and Tuesday’s sessions during the big swings on Wall Street and the biggest one day price increase in oil ever. I shared my thoughts with Pharm Exec Blog which were posted on Tuesday, Sept. 23rd.
“There was a “Black Monday” mood of resignation and humor heard among the attendees as they shared their reactions to the unfolding Wall Street and governmental drama that seemed impossible not long ago.”You can read more at http://pharmexec.findpharma.com/ in the article entitled “UBS Life Science Conference Dominated by Wall Street Drama“.
I also commented on the Roche breakout sessions when attendees have the opportunities to ask direct questions. of the presenters. I had asked Roche presenters whether or not they expected the employees from the Nutley commercial operations (which would be shut down) to relocate to South San Francisco considering the difficulties in doing so as well as if it were true they planned to change their company’s name from Roche to Genentech in the U.S. The answers to both were yes. They indicated they would change their corporate ”brand” name in the U.S. because the Genentech name is so strong here.
If you are interested in listening to the presentations (not the breakout sessions), you can still hear them through Oct. 25, 2008. To access the Webcast:
