Haas Business Health Care Conference

Hi,
Sorry for last minute posting of the second annual Health Care Conference organized by Haas Business School students. I just received this information today. But better late than never. I attended this event last year and it was worthwhile. Unfortunately, I have conflict with such short notice so will miss this year’s event. You might want to check out the url to see if the panels are of interest.

The Haas Business of Health Care Conference provides an interdisciplinary forum where cutting-edge information and innovative approaches to health care are shared. This is the only event of its kind on the West Coast where health care industry professionals come together with students to present and discuss ideas and learn from each other. Last year’s impressive inaugural conference was extremely well-received and this year’s conference promises to be even more exciting, attracting more than 350 attendees and speakers, including our keynote speakers: John M. Capek, Ph.D., Executive Vice President, Medical Devices, Abbott Laboratories and Jay D. Keasling , Professor of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering at the University of California, Berkeley and Co-Founder of Amyris Biotechnologies (Dr. Keasling also won Discover Magazine’s 2006 ‘Scientist of the Year’ award, and is partnering with OneWorld Health to create low-cost malaria drugs).

The conference will focus on the theme Innovation for a Better Tomorrow. In essence, what are you doing today to prepare for tomorrows health care challenges? To address these issues, we have lined up speakers from key biotechnology companies such as Genentech, Amgen, and Novartis to discuss Biosimilars. We will also have speakers from the California Association of Health Plans and Kaiser Foundation Health Plan to discuss Health Policy and the upcoming Presidential Election. Additionally, we have panelists from Intel and Microsoft to discuss Personal Health Information Technologies. This event is not to be missed! Register today and we look forward to seeing you there!
