New jobs are appearing in the Bay Area and consultants are telling me they are getting new assignments. Spring has come late this year but new “sprouts” are finally budding on the Bay Area job market. Perhaps the latest MoneyTree 2010, quarter 2 venture capital investment report from PriceCoopers Waterhouse with dramatic increases in investments has something to do with change. “The life sciences sector, which combines the biotechnology and medical device industries, jumped 52 percent in dollars and 36 percent in deals from the prior quarter with $2.1 billion going into 234 deals. Be prepared with your positioning of yourself, your capabilities and experience to potentially solve the hiring companies problems. Be sure to research the company so you can “pitch” yourself as an excellent choice for the position. And as always be sure to make connections at the company so you can get your resume in front of the hiring manager.

And “network, network, network” to build those connections.
