Here is List of Jobs for This Week

Difficult to read the stats on the availability of new positions. Jobs are up in life science but the demand isn’t strong enough to make those “looking” feel satisfied that the drought has ended. We’re told that there aren’t any big layoffs but Roche is making noises about budgetary cutbacks at end of year. The latter makes Genentech folks wonder what the impact will be in the Bay Area. Roche hasn’t been known to keep initial promises about maintaining staff when they acquire companies.

But dramatic increases in VC investment in Biotechnology early stage companies (less so for medical device this past quarter) suggest that more jobs should be opening up in the Bay Area. Large corporations are sitting on trillions of dollars but aren’t hiring at the rate one would expect but that’s less of a local problem in this high innovation cluster.

Here’s list of Jobs that Crossed My Desk this week.Right click on highlighted title and open in new windown.
