Coming Events with Information on FDA Changes plus Jobs

I’ve been excitedly watching the Olympics and so pleased that our outstanding athletes are making us proud, but also pushing all the negative political media off the main stage for a while. What a refreshing and inspiring respite! Also the good news about two anti-obesity drugs being approved and a gene therapy treatment approved in Europe for the first time outside Asia provides some good news that regulatory bodies are doing their jobs.

Although there’s a debate underway about the FDA’s productivity, one can’t ignore that the agency is making positive efforts to advance innovation. See BioCentury TV Today to learn some information on changes there. Don’t miss the President and CEO of the California Healthcare Institute, David Gollaher, Ph.D. when he speaks about the reauthorization of the Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA) and Medical Device User Fee Act (MDUFA) at the BioScience Forum August 15 to hear more about the FDA and challenges in achieving its mandate.

We are in the middle of summer and events have slacked off as they usually do at this time of year. Hope to see you at one of these events this week. I’ve listed the upcoming event highlights for the coming week below. As usual you can find all the details for events through December in the attached Audrey’s Picks and check out the Jobs That Crossed My Desk in the second attachment.
