Learn About Presidential Candidates’ Positions on Rx Industry

Have you wondered where the Presidential candidates stand on the American drug industry and prescription drug pricing, you can find out with an excellent article “Presidential Candidates and Rx Policy” at http://www.pharmexec.com/presidential-candidates-rx-policy?topic=402&eid=177403510&bid=1294097 . This article succinctly discusses positions of leading candidates. The outrage over high drug pricing has had a large impact on candidates—even Republicans who were known to be friendly with the industry in the past.

The Democratic stance is not surprising but the shift in Republican stance is. See article from Kaiser Family Foundation which shares Americans’ position on drug pricing and industry. Results include: “Most Americans (72%) say the cost of Rx drugs are unreasonable

And how to change that situation? (1) Require the drug companies to release information to the public on how they set prices (86%) and (2)  Allow Medicare to negotiate for lower drug prices (83%)”

See Foundation report at http://kff.org/health-costs/poll-finding/kaiser-health-tracking-poll-august-2015/ for details.
