Life Science Events Week of Aug. 22, 2016

The summer is winding down as we enjoy the last of outdoor events and watch the Olympics as we have time.. I was so heartened with our great athletes and their outstanding team efforts. They reminded me that we know how to work as teams.

I don’t know about you, but I’m finding it very difficult to speak about what’s at stake for our community without getting frightened as otherwise intelligent, well educated people retreat to their corner of personal bias or orthodoxy. I don’t see the openness to new ideas and those of others in the political sphere that we see in the sports. We seem to have lost any ability to discuss differences without arousing tempers and deep seated beliefs that divide us.
